One of the most widespread nutritional myths is that oranges and orange juice raise blood pressure.
It was probably created because of the habit of giving orange juice immediately after the end of blood donation.
What is really true?
The real reason orange juice is given is not to increase blood pressure but to replace lost fluids.
Orange not only does not raise your blood pressure but also helps regulate it, since it is rich in potassium.
Potassium helps to better control blood pressure levels.
Therefore, hypertensive people should not avoid oranges but enrich the daily diet with foods rich in it, such as tomato, banana, cashews, beans, broccoli and orange juice.
