Can eating too fast cause overeating?

Are you one of those people who eat fast?

Do you get stressed and eat fast or is it just a habit?

Do you like to eat while enjoying your favorite TV series?

How does the above affect the quantities you consume?

People who are used to eat quickly, tend to consume larger amounts of food compared to what they need and the reason is that it takes about 15-20 minutes after consuming a meal for blood glucose levels, to rise. The increased blood glucose signals the onset of satiety in the brain. Someone who consume its food faster, end up with not only a surplus of food, but also with stomach conditions such as bloating, difficulty with breathing and extra weight, since the brain does not have time to perceive satiety.

Eating slowly is important, not only for controlling the amount of food, but also for enjoying the meal more, as there is time to notice the texture, colors and aromas.
